Admission into the UC Irvine School of Nursing is competitive and highly selective. The number of students in the major is small due to the limited availability of clinical placements.
Each year, the number of admitted students varies based on admission patterns from previous years. Due to the increasing number of applicants and selective nature of the program, it is strongly recommended that you research other nursing programs as well.

To remain competitive in the applicant pool, you should score a minimum of 550 in each of the three areas on the SAT test: critical reading, mathematics and writing, or score a 24 or higher on the ACT. Students who do not meet this minimum requirement may not be reviewed for admission into the Nursing Science major.
